Mr. Ram Bahadur Ghimire has long-standing expertise in the civil engineering and development sector. He has more than 18 years of professional experience in the field of infrastructure development, WASH, shelter, federal structure, community infrastructure, health/school infrastructure and disaster risk reduction (DRR) with UNDP and UNHCR in South Sudan, Sudan, and Burundi (State Support Programme). Since then, Mr. Ghimire has been involved in offering expert services to a number of diverse projects including hydropower, urban planning and management, water supply projects, agriculture, livelihood, climate change, road, industries, micro finance and investment. He has worked for Water Aid Nepal, Terre des Homes, European Union, and the UK Government’s FCDO projects. He has extensive knowledge and experience in infrastructure and hydro energy in Nepal and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. In addition, Mr. Ghimire has been actively involved in providing technical assistance to the World Bank, ADB, UNDP, DFID, GIZ, SDC, and USAID in areas of policy, environmental, and infrastructure sector. Mr. Ghimire holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Management Development from Erasmus University, Netherlands (World Bank Scholarship), Interdisciplinary degree on Water Resource Management (IWRM) from Pokhara University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk. He has visited more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.  Mr. Ghimire is a life member of the Nepal Engineer’s Association and President of the Returned UN Volunteers Association, Nepal (RUNVAN).
